Late Docs

so i submitted my css and fafsa documents to all my schools before the deadline, but i have not submitted the 2010 tax returns yet. do you think this will affect my application?? and also, i live overseas and my mother who i live with isn’t american so she files taxes for another country other than the us… do i still send that in?? would they be able to understand it if it’s in another language?

I hope you mean your 2011 tax returns and not your 2010 tax returns, as FAFSA requires only the 2011 tax returns.
If by “application” you mean “aid,” the answer is that it will drastically change your aid only if the estimates you gave are drastically changed once the actual numbers from the tax returns are entered (which you must do once you have them).

Here’s my opinion on this…“for every school you apply to, you must find out for EACH SCHOOL, what is their fa process, which fa forms do they require (FAFSA, PROFILE, institutional), what are their deadlines and do not miss them!”. That includes specifically understanding which other documents are required by the school, those deadlines as well and don’t miss those. Lastly, do NOT assume, the FA office has received everything – proactively contact each school’s FA office and confirm all they require has been received…

If you don’t do all of this properly, you will/may not be considered…

I’m guessing you mean 2011 tax information.

Don’t miss your school deadlines for submissions of materials. Period.
