Hey all, I’m really freaking out. So i received an email on Jan 3rd 4:00am (HONG KONG TIME) that said my NYU essay was missing from my application. I did not see the email until Jan 5th 7:30pm (HONG KONG TIME) since it was in my junk mail, and I JUST submitted it. I have already emailed NYU, but I was wondering if I should call the office later when they are open to make sure? Because I know technically I am 16 hours behind the extension period they gave me. Please help I’m really scared and I really want to have a chance to study at NYU!!
@cedartreee I figure you might currently still be nervous about accidentally sending in your application supplemental a little late and the fact that no one has responded to your question. While it is generally frowned upon by most (because the applications have all been available for awhile now), common app colleges generally have a grace period after the deadline. They sent you the email because in actuality admissions offices do want to read our applications.
So to answer your question, no it isn’t a problem. I wish you the best and hope you get accepted to NYU!(:
PS: If it gives you any peace of mind, you can call the admissions office, but 9 times out of 10 they’re gonna say it’s fine. They just don’t want everybody sending in late applications and essays etc.
