My daughter’s high school hasn’t even finished the first semester, which ends at the end of January. So it would not be possible to send a report until then.

I believe this is the case at most schools in NY state where state final subject exams are not until the third week in June. School starts after Labor Day so the first half of the school year ends toward the end of January. So this is not an uncommon issue.

thanks! But we are in boston. Is this common in boston?

Schools do understand this-- but you can always give the admissions office of the various schools a quick call to tell them when grades are coming and “make sure that’s ok.” It will be a quick call, the secretary who answers can handle it (and make a note of it), and you’ll feel better. In my experience, they never minded this kind of call --to either briefly give info or ask a quick question. Just don’t do it more than once to each school, if you can help it.
