Late submission of quarter grades to ED school?

My ED school deadline was 11/1. I thought I had asked my counselor to send my quarter grades with my application because they are required. I just received an email from the school (on 11/10, which is unusually late, usually schools send an email to activate the application portal a day or two after submission) to create an account to check the application checklist to see if I was missing anything. It seems that I am missing the quarter grades transcript.

  • Small liberal arts school
  • It seems that I can get it sent out soonest by 11/12.
  • Said in the email to check the checklist to see if you were missing anything, and to send in missing materials as soon as possible. ---- By the time the admissions officers will see my quarter grades (which are good) it will be 11/15. How far along on the application process will they be? ----- Will they have reviewed my application already, without the transcript? ----- Or have they set it aside to wait because I haven't sent in the quarter grades? ----- Does anyone know how they (small LAC) review applications? ----- Am I too late to the game, sending in my quarter grades this late?

HELP

I would expect that there are plenty of schools that would not even have grades until 11/12. Of course if you were on the semester system you would not have grades until even later.

It is my understanding that schools take some time to review applications. They will have already seen your grades from up until this year. This means that they could already file your application into the “very likely” or “maybe” or “not likely” piles.

Get the grades sent as soon as you can. The worst that seems likely is that they will move you to RD, but I think it more likely that it won’t be a problem.

The college is surely aware that there are high schools that haven’t even captured, let alone sent, first quarter grades yet. Just follow up with your school to make sure they sent them as quickly as possible.

Get them out as soon as possible. I seriously doubt it will be a problem or that you are alone. Our school doesn’t finish its first marking period until right before Thanksgiving and as always has a pile of kids admitted ED to SLACs.

And worst case? You’ll be deferred to RD and they’ll want your mid year grades.
