later guys!

oh well thanks for all your help hahaha. No UCLA for me ; / so i guess its off to UCSD…

weird, i didn’t get ucsd but got ucla, bye flong, but hey, ucsd has a higher ranking in engieering than ucla, so best of luck to you

nah i wasnt doing engineering although at this point i wish i had -_-x. i did pre business econ. nothing i can do now though but face the music

SD has a strong econ program.

interesting. well i guess not is all lost. although pre business econ at la woulda been nice

aw…try an appeal?

nah thats stupid hahaha. ive had enough stress over LA. im gonna wait on Tufts and Wesleyan and if they dont want me then im happy with UCSD.

aw…well always worth a shot, you never know =)

But have fun wherever you go ^_^v

yeah nothing to appeal with. maybe i should appeal saying im a north korean or something rofl

Where’s your gf going, flong? Also, wait for Michigan. It’s not too bad.

she got rejected by UCLA too so UCSD is one option. This year just suprised us all. UCSD because significantly harder to get into and then UCLA pulls a fast one many of my peers who had 3.8/3.9 uws and 2150+.

yeah im waiting on michigan. i guess i should be happy i even got deferred

You were a Match for UCLA. I can’t believe it. :(

well…i cant be sad. UCLA was consistent mostly on the type of ppl who got accepted (3.9 and around 2200’s at my school). Life goes on, hopefully michigan or tufts will take me and if not i have UCSD which has an econ program at least.

but i keep telling myself “tough times dont last tough ppl do.” so things will work out but thanks for all ur help flopsy!

I can’t help but noticed that many people who are a match for UCLA got rejected. This whole “holistic” approach does not seem to be working at all. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this smells like affirmative action.

i dont know. i thought holistic admisisons would help me out alot (since i put single parent, low income!) but who knows. with 55k there was bound to be 11800 applicants with monster stats

i feel your pain flong…ah well SD it is!

If your heart’s set on UCLA, go to a CC then apply as a transfer. The transition will be easier compared to a person coming in straight from hs. You’ll also save tons of $$$s.

Also, you can enroll into regular UCLA classes via UCLA Extension while simultaneously taking CC classes. It’s something you should definitely try to get a better “feel” for the quarter system.

Anyway, good luck on whatever school you decide to attend.

uhhh i don’t think affirmative action is the culprit since i’m both asian, of the chinese variety, and out of state. but then again i didn’t ask for any financial aid so maybe they’re not need blind???
