Mollie,
it’s just GOT to be carrot cake. Isn’t your bunny going to be the ‘best bunny’? He’d LOVE carrot cake!!!

We’re not sure yet. We tried white cake with a lemon custard filling, and it was delicious, but probably we will go with a different flavor for each tier. The cake place allows us to try any number of combinations; we just need to call or email and they’ll have a cake available the next day.

And the bunny is not allowed to have refined sugar before her bedtime. Her tastes are also pretty wide-ranging – I think she’d be in favor of fillings with carrot, raspberry, banana, apple, papaya… actually, I don’t think she’s ever met a fruit she didn’t like.

Oh sorry, bunny is a she, so she can’t be best bunny. She’ll have to be the bunnymaid. That furry little thing has gourmet taste- must be from living in an area with a lot of diversity. At least you could make an exception with the sugar on such a special occasion- after all she’ll be up late partying anyway.

My biggest wedding fantasy that will never be fulfilled would be to have the bunny be the ringbearer – to have her hop down the aisle with the ring pillow strapped to her back. The problem is that she is a curious little thing and would almost certainly be waylaid halfway down the aisle by some sort of lickable-looking shoe or pant leg.

The bunny is, of course, horribly spoiled. She gets at least three different kinds of greens per night (she particularly likes kale, collard greens, parsley, cilantro, and romaine lettuce), and always gets a baby carrot or a small piece of fruit as a treat in the evening. She’s been really good for our eating habits, actually – since we’ve had her, we are forced to go to the grocery store every week and to have fresh produce on hand all the time. And to wake up every morning at 4 AM, when she insists on eating her breakfast.

But Mollie, surely with all those MIT undergrads running around, there would be someone who could design a motorized vehicle for bunny so she could ride it down the aisle and not have a chance to get distracted.

For the rehearsal dinner – we had ours at Jimmy’s Harborside.

It is kind of a nice Boston-y thing for people from out of town.

P.S. I’d say put the bunny in a basket and have the flower girl carry her.

I would STRONGLY suggest you have the photographer take at least a few shots of the wedding party with the moose! Those kinds of pictures live on forever…
…just like the one of me splayed on the floor in my gown after too deep of a dip backwards! ;)

Could you get the bunny to hop to the altar (with your rings on her back) if you laid a trail of fruit down the aisle?

Mollie-I’ve been lurking on here for awhile and never posted. I notice references to having your bunny take part in the ceremony. Make sure none of your attendants are allergic to bunnies or your ceremony will be sniffly and sneezy! Just the thought of a bunny makes my eyes itch!

Love the bridesmaids dresses, BTW. Regarding tuxes, I am so glad I insisted hubby wear an understated black Pierre Cardin tux way back when. He and all the men look dashing to this day in the old 80’s photos.

Haha, I don’t think she’ll really get to hop down the aisle, aided or otherwise. She’s not used to being around big groups of people (actually, the biggest group of people she’s ever seen was over at our apartment the night Andison came over!), and I think she would get really scared. (This is our bunny – our baby. She’s a big scaredybun.)

I had heard she was cute, but really, she’s adorable!! Must take after her mother- and I bet she’s smart too.

We made our save-the-dates this week – we ordered blue cardstock from a store online and had the MIT copy center print the words on white cardstock, then glued them together with a gluestick. [Classy, eh?](http://web.mit.edu/mollieb/www/wedding/savethedate.jpg)

I actually think the postage is going to be the most expensive part of the save-the-dates. :D

Now we just have to somehow convince my future mother-in-law that, yes, she does need to finalize her portion of the guestlist. Preferably, like, yesterday.

EDIT: Oh, and exciting news! My awesome and brilliant fiance got a fabulous job offer from an aerospace company in the area – he also got into MIT’s aerospace engineering master’s program, so what he will do is defer his admission to the program, go work for the company for two years, and then go back to school. The company will pay his grad school tuition and his salary when he goes back. Good deal!

He’s really excited – the company was founded by grad school buddies of his favorite professor, and the professor thinks the company is a really good fit for him both in terms of research interests and in terms of personality. And we can now afford a one-bedroom apartment, yay!

Great news. And great date. (My birthday.)

Awwwwwwwww, mollie! I love your “save the date” design! Hope your glue stick worked better than any WE have…they NEVER hold anything!

Congrats to your wonderful hubster-to-be on the fabulous job offer! WAY TO GO!!! And also on his acceptance to MIT for his masters! GREAT job all the way around!

Lots of excitement out your way, sweetie, and I couldn’t be happier for y’all!

btw, guess WHAT??? We got a BUNNY!!! And she’s ADORABLE. Her name is Jojo! :)

~berurah

That’s fabulous news about your fiance! And good luck getting your mother-in-law’s guest list (been there myself).

Mollie, its a great design for the save the date cards! And congrats to your fiance! What great news.

berurah - pictures please of bunny! what fun!

Instead of glue stick, try using double sided tape. For this purpose, I’d just use the cheapy stuff that’s available at any office supply store, probably made by Scotch. There are also fancy, acid-free products that come in pre-cut little tabs, which would be available at scrapbook stores, or your larger craft stores, like Michael’s.

Great save the date. I also just got one for the wedding of one of my best friends’ D. It’s cool looking too. With everyone having a wedding website and all, you could almost skip the formal invitation. I guess that’s too radical!

And, wow, mollieb. What a great thing for Adam! To have the job and grad school plan all lined up and paid for! Great wedding gift - that he gave himself! Bravo.

Mollie,
thank you too for starting this thread & for more than just the fun of watching you plan your wedding. I thought about you and Adam, I realized in 3-4 years those of us with college freshmen will be making plans just like you and Adam and it brought tears to my eyes thinking about the wonderful futures ahead & all the possibilities for our children. Thank you.

Mollie:

I love getting updates from you. Such a relief from the hostile, intense threads!
The news about your fiance is awesome. Happy apartment hunting!
