Latin Subject Test

Is there a way to find out what exactly is on the SAT II Latin subject test?

Yes, I saw the college board link:
[Latin SAT Subject Test - SAT Latin Practice Questions](<a href=“The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board”>The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board)

Yes I read it, and saw that it tests grammar, derivatives, and translations. Yes I see the recommended preparation is 2-4 years. Yes I see the anticipated skills such as “translate from latin to english.”

What I want to know is exactly what topics in grammar, for example are tested. What level is the derivatives and translations at? How advanced is the grammar and other material? Are there any review books that are recommended for being at the appropriate level

Thank you so much for any help.

As a follow up, how does the Latin SAT compare to the National Latin Exam in terms of difficulty? I know the two exams are not the same. Which level of the NLE is closest to the SAT II? How well might performance on the NLE relate to potential performance on the Latin SAT?

The only full book I have been able to find is (REA) SAT Latin Subject Test; this will review all the needed grammar:
[SAT Latin Subject Test w/CD-ROM 2nd Ed. (SAT PSAT ACT (College Admission) Prep): Ronald B. Palma M.A.: 9780738610764: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0738610763/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

The official SAT guide for all subject tests might be worth getting just to have an extra practice test; the ‘instruction’ is minimal.

NLE, the most helpful tests will be levels 3/4 poetry and prose.

You should spend a lot of time refreshing vocabulary and translating (this is where old NLE test may be very helpful).

We are prepping this year, and this is what we have been advised.

Thank you katilac for your feedback! May I ask what level of Latin you are in and if there is any special prep work that you are doing for the SAT 2? I am in my 4th year, thinking of doing it in Dec. or June. Also, do you know much about AP Latin and how to prepare for that?
