Does anyone plan on using the student laundry service? My parents refuse to pay for it, but I’ve been thinking of putting some of my own money toward it. I would still have to wash some of my shirts and jeans, but I’m sure the majority of my clothes would be sent to the laundry service. I think it would save a lot of time, since I wouldn’t have to do laundry as often. Does anyone have any information/knowledge on how good the service is and how many students use it? Thanks!

Yes, good question!

I know almost no one who does it, for what it’s worth. Doing your laundry doesn’t take that much time, really; you only need 10 minutes to take your stuff and load it, and 20-25 minutes to take it out and fold it, etc.

I don’t like the mental strain of having to remember you have laundry downstairs. Okay, stop laughing.
I’d much prefer not having to keep track of it, but paying for laundry seems too much of a luxury, especially as the machines are free.

Set a timer on your cell phone or something…
or just bring a book/computer into the laundry room and wait. I don’t think doing laundry is that big of a hassle. Just buy a lot of clothes so you don’t have to do it as much

Yea, I know it’s probably not worth it to pay for the service, but I really hate doing my laundry lol. Thanks for the input, I’ll think about it.

I don’t use it myself… what with the special care female clothes require (hang dry, gentle, cold wash, etc.) I’d be nervous having mine sent to the (lowest-bidding?) cleaners…

Most of the people I know who use it are guys.

Also, if there is no laundry in your building, you may find having it sent off to be much more convenient.
