Lauren O'Garro-Moore is my Regional Rep

<p>Hi everyone! I am a long time reader but first time poster.</p>

<p>I live in Central New Jersey and Lauren O’Garro-Moore is my regional admissions counselor. I searched on Google that she was a cheerleader and also did theatre.</p>

<p>It turns out that I have been a cheerleader for all four years of high school (JV 9-11, JV Captain 11, Varsity 12), and I was also the lead understudy in my high school’s musical.</p>

<p>Do you think Ms. O’Garro-Moore will be biased in her decision and admit me to the University of Pennsylvania because I participated in activities similar to hers?</p>

<p>My GPA is above a 3.8 and I also scored very high on my SATs.</p>

<p>You will probably have a good interview… but when I spoke to an admissions officer they said that the inverview will never get you in (it could get you out) because not everyone can get an interview. Someone else told me that pretty much the interview serves just to confirm their admit/deny decision that you would get anyways… the only difference is if theres like 5 ppl vying for the last spot the interview can come in handy</p>

<p>It will not help you. Admissions decisions come down to a committee decision at Penn and do not come down to “I like this person.” </p>

<p>If anything, I would assume a person in similar disciplines to be more critical simply because they have additional knowledge in that field.</p>
