I’m trying to help someone out with ECs pertaining to law. I’ve brainstormed and all I’ve come up with is debate. I’m not that interested in law so thats probably why its so difficult.

Anyways, could you guys please name some good ECs/programs/internships for law? I’d GREATLY appreciate it! (:

Law? Anything that allows the person to communicate and be analytical. That can encompass many activities. If your friend is not very creative about seeing how many ECs can relate to a future career in Law, he/she probably won’t be a good Law student, much less a lawyer…

With too many lawyers and so few jobs it might be a great time to look at things that will help with securing a career that can help bridge the gap between JD and first job. Looking at the human services sector would both look good to the law school as well as be a fall back carer in case it is needed.

In college, law schools don’t really care what you do, so long as you do it really well. (For admissions.) It’s almost entirely a numbers game, and they don’t look at your high school ECs at all.

Now if you want ECs to test out if you like law, try to intern in a place that does law! Law firms, yes, but also government agencies for the policy side, or in a division of a company that’s dealing with legal issues.
