A question on the financial aid application reads:

What’s the purpose of this question? I’m not entirely sure what I’d respond to the first of those questions, but I do wonder why the information is being collected in the first place - and whether it might be released to anyone other than the aid office.

Anyone here know?

Sometimes donors of scholarship funds are interested in supporting students who might pursue particular fields.
