lawmaker says he has business degree...really a Sizzler training certificate

Hey, you can pry my ground chuck and Kraft singles from my cold, dead hands.

He also passed the Bar… the salad bar
(sorry, lifted from WaPo comment section)

Yet Scott Thompson lost his job as CEO of Yahoo when his bio claimed he majored in computer science and accounting but really only had a degree in accounting (he went to college long enough ago that computer science wasn’t a major). Go figure.

You guys should start a youtube comedy show!

I read this story yesterday and I have to admit that nothing surprises me these days when it comes to politicians and the truth (or lack thereof).

Sadly, yes. And how easily we shrug into a laugh. Anyway, you know I know. I’m more surprised Sizzler is still around.

However, despite Thompson’s level of deceit, he at least got a 4 year undergrad degree which makes his deceit slightly less egregious than this lawmaker.

There’s a major difference between claiming a certificate which could be completed in less than a year from an institution with exceedingly low barrier of entry vs a 4 year degree.

Very much like someone in the computer tech world claiming s/he was a college grad with a CS major on the basis of an A+ technicians certificate*.

  • One which is so widely considered a joke that most colleagues no longer bother putting it on their resume's, especially if they have graduated as a CS/MIS major or had much more challenging certificates such as Cisco, Linux, or even MCSE.

Started to comment… after googling ‘politicians’ & ‘lies’… and decided that beating a dead horse must be more fun for other people.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
The above post is a propos. This horse is dead. Closing thread.
