Anyone from Lawrenceville? I’ve heard local parents get heavily involved at Lawrenceville… is this true?
By virtue of being right near a major suburban area (Princeton), there are lots of parents who live close by. Lawrencville has a fairly large percentage of day students (roughly 30%). There are many ways that parents can be involved in the lives of their kids. But this is not really any different than other boarding schools.
It is much different than the boarding schools with 100% boarding students.
I was under that impression, yes, when we visited. That is because on the day of the interview, several local parents were there, available to answer questions. And when I started talking to one, I could tell she was involved in other ways too.
They seemed to do a lot in a good way, hosting over breaks, taking kids to shopping and doc appointments etc, watching games and feeding, out of town parents are encouraged to sign up for Saturday dorm feedings etc every week.
