<p>I was just perusing another college discussion site and I read something about Columbia accepting “leadership admits” that were not very qualified. What is a “leadership admit”? Someone with leadership positions in high school? (fairly common for ivy league applicants…)</p>

<p>Aren’t they looking for potential leaders who will give the school a good name down the road?</p>
<p>For example, I have a ton of leadership ECs. In fact, I have positions in all of them. Will that significantly boost my changes?</p>
