Does anyone know anything about the leadership program? It’s one of the Academic Theme Programs offered and from what I heard… its situated in Bixby 2.

If so, how much time do students devote participating in the activities and what exactly do they do?
Is this program worth my time if I have a busy schedule?
And are there any other things you’d like to say about this ATP?

You do absolutely nothing devoted to participating in activities.

It is definately not worth it.

Just don’t do it…

Everyone on the floor thinks they are hot **** and that the world revolves around them. Its just not a good combination. Atleast it wasn’t this year.

What sort of activities or whatever do they expect you to do?
And would you say the program is worth a guaranteed spot in Segundo?

As for the people, I can probably deal with it. I’m more concerned about what the program offers and their expectations.
Anyone else have any opinion regarding this ATP?

they dont expect you to do anything. you do absolutely nothing related to leadership. Unless you do the 1 unit ATP component which was even more stupid. People from the arboretum teach you how to be leaders.

If you want a spot in Segundo, sure join the floor.

they’re not controlling, they’re obnoxious. The floor is divided into the sorority/frat people and then the people who are here to actually learn. The s/f people are completely inconsiderate and are very disruptive.

whoever on my floor that felt the need to write on my door, I’m sorry that you don’t like how I feel but i’m sure you probably dont like me either.

Hey hey, I want to join the conversation about my floor I think it’s great, definitely hell of fun
P.S.: Bixby 2 will def stay famous in Segundo for a long time, we’ve done some crazy **** this year, haha
P.P.S.: next year they are moving Leadership Floor to Cuarto

Let me add to what my roommate, Irbis, said above. As a lot of you know, I’ve been posting and answering questions here in the UC Davis forum for a good amount of time, so here’s my two cents with regards to the situation:

I’ve had a great time living on the Leadership floor this year. There’s no question that people here like having a good time, but I’d also like to mention that the majority of these same residents are achieving high marks with regards to classes. If you have any specific questions about the program, I’ll try my best to answer any questions.

The Leadership floor was a great experience – I wouldn’t trade it for anything. There’s no question that the legend of those occupying Bixby 2 for the 2006-2007 school year will have their stories told time and time again.

To answer your question. The Leadership floor did provide anything to do with Leadership. Instead it provided a great opportunity for people who are interested in Leadership style activities and socializing to meet people with the same interests. I personally would recommend the Leadership floor to anyone. Although, for next years frosh class, the Leadership floor will be moved to Cuarto so if you are looking to get a sure foot into Segundo or Tercero, I would recommend talking to someone who is living there and ask them what they put on their application to get the best chances of living in a particular area.

Furthermore, not everyone is going to mesh well with everyone else…unfortunately this is bound to happen, but i will say this…the college experience you want is only made by you…
