Between Harvard and Princeton which one values leadership qualities more in the admissions process?
And could very strong leadership get you in?

Errrr, this is a hard question. They both look for leadership, and of course very strong leadership could HELP you in, but definitely will not guarantee admission in the least.

You live in Anchorage, AK!!! OMG…I’m going up there this Friday to visit a friend…haha

As for the leadership stuff, strong leadership will certainly help, but not guarantee admission

Haha, do you know which school your “friend” goes to? I know a lot of kids… then we could be buddies! YAY! Will you be my friend?

just kidding, but really, what school does he go to?

do you think that it could make up for a gpa that puts me AT 10% class rank.

how about if we don’t have much leadership…I mean I do not know enough people in the school to be class or school president, I am not good at sports, and idk…I am just not really given any opportunities…I guess I will just start a club or something. I actually love heading group progects and stuff like that. Just because I am not a head of anything doesn’t mean that I lack good qualities and potential.

ivyguy-probably depends what you are the leader of. EXAMPLE: If you want to be an english magor, are editor of your newspaper, and have an A+ in English…then I am sure that the fact that your science grades brought down your GPA won’t matter much. My belief is that they look at everything as a package. What do I know though…I am just a hs sophmore…lol…

(i know i know…you guys are all probably thinking…get off this board…come back in a few years, but I like gathering all the info now so that I can figure out what to do in the future. I must sigh though, for all of this information gathering has only made me slowly realize that I have hardly a chance at Princeton ( my top choice) at all. )

leadership and ecs count for a lot. Harvard for example rejects people with 4.0s and 1600s because thats all that they have to offer. you are a sophomore, you still have time, just show a passion for something. the key is commitment and not bulk.
