  1. Debate Club captain in Junior, and President in Senior
  2. President of National Honors Society
  3. American Legion Boy States</p>

<p>He sounds like a very strong candidate for many colleges. Please remember that the Ivies admit only 10 - 20% of those who apply, so even strong candidates are not guaranteed admission there. He should certainly go ahead and apply there if that’s what he wants, but he should also find some schools with higher admission rates to be safe.</p>
