<p>How heavily does it weigh in on admissions? Does it weigh more for HYPSM range schools ore do all top colleges (for the sake of defining top in this situation, lets use the US News rankings) in the 20-40 range weigh in leadership heavily?</p>
<p>Leadership extends beyond traditional club leadership roles. There are plenty of student council and french club presidents who are sitting ducks, and name-less members who have made significant impacts on their school. </p>
<p>The short of it: It matters, but not necessarily in the way you think it does.</p>
<p>That’s good then. Me and a friend of mine took the initiative and got our chapter of Spanish honor society set up. We found the sponsor, had the charter drawn up, and formed the plan for the activities the club would undertake. We also talked to local chapters and figured out a lot of things we could do and looked into them. Unfortunately, officer elections were a bit of a popularity contest.</p>
<p>First chair musicians are also leaders as are drum majors.</p>
