If you’re thinking of attending/ have attended/ have a child who has gone to Penn State for LEAP, which pride did they go into? Do you have to take one pertaining to your major? As of right now, I want to switch my major to undecided.
You don’t have to take one related to your major — the largest group of prides are Gen Eds so they are good for anyone, but there are DUS prides too. LEAP is really an excellent program and I can’t recommend it highly enough. B
My son was in the Business Statistics LEAP (SCM 200 and CAS 100). He needed both classes for his major in IST. That LEAP was 7 credits as opposed to all of the others which are 6 credits. He did say that it was a lot more work than many of the other LEAP Prides. I think some students are under the impression that since its just two classes, it is a lighter load, but it is actually a full load: 6 credits over 6 weeks is equal to 15 credits over a 15 week semester.
There are many to choose from, and as posted above, you can take any that you want regardless of your major (of course you only want classes that count). But register early because they fill up quickly.
