<p>Hey, I was interested to see whether any of you have successfully attempted to self-learn a language.</p>

<p>I speak Mandarin Chinese fluently, but I can’t write or read. Thus, I’m interested in learning Chinese characters.</p>

<p>I’m also interested in learning Korean, but I have no idea where to start. I’ve always been able to self-learn math and science pretty easily by reading a textbook. How do I go about self-learning a language? Do you guys recommend textbooks? Rosetta Stone? Thanks for any help.</p>

<p>Rosetta Stone works, but it gets repetitive after a few days. In gamer terms, you’re going to be grinding through the same lessons for quite a while. If you’ve got some crazy self discipline and stick to a schedule, it’ll work.</p>

<p>Bump. Does anyone else have opinions about Rosetta Stone? Apart from Rosetta Stone, how should I go about this?</p>
