leaving UCI

I am clueless on the process of leaving the school. I plan to transfer. How do I start the process of leaving?

I'm guessing it's the same for every other uni. Talk to your adviser about transferring and apply to the unis you want to transfer to, visit their websites and take not of the deadlines and the transfer policy, because it varies amongst all the unis in the USA.

I'm applying to UCI, so out of curiosity, why do you want to leave? Is there something bad about the place? just for my reference. Thanks

I'm applying to UCI and I want to know too.

I'm planning on going to community college because I want another shot at Berkeley. UCI is very far away from my home and I'd rather be in an environment with intelligent people.

UCI don't have intelligent people?

You can transfer to Berkeley from UCI. Follow the UC Reciprocity Agreement, and keep your grades up and you should be fine.

agree with nervouswreck^

you will hate it at a community college. especially coming from a UC

but at least i wont have to live with disruptive people

okay but thats kinda sad if thats your only reason

I don't think the OP has to give that many reasons for his/her desire to be at Cal over UCI. :)

My lifestyle preferences disagree with my current lifestyle at UCI. There are many reasons but I won't list them. Don't let this discourage any of you guys from attending. If late nights and hanging out are your things, go for it.

Hm...there aren't late nights and hanging out at Cal? If you don't want that, I hear UCSD would probably be the best for you.

Are you specifically having a problem with your roommates or neighbors? I'll tell you, I've had about 8 separate roommates over about a 6 year period and I hated all of them except for one.

Maybe you have other reasons too but I think you'll find roommates at Cal are the same as at UCI. They're *******s wherever you go in the world and there is certainly no exception for the UC system.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

i agree with edward04.... i went there to visit the sd campus on a saturday, and EVERYONE is either in their dorms or went back home. in other words its a dead campus. its quiet compared to uci's. cal is pretty active too, sd is probably better for u

I'm at SD right now and I have to agree, it's dead. Most everyone goes home, except norcal people.

I'm in the same boat as you. I think UCI is fine, but I can't see myself here for 4 years of my life. I'll put my time in for this year but I'm going to transfer out to somewhere in the Berkley area too. I just don't feel right here. It's not what I want for my life. I'm having a hard time finding a school to apply to transfer into though.

I'm actually loving that it's dead on the weekend. I don't have to hustle my way through a throng of people to get to places as I do on the weekdays.

It feels like it's all for me. Sorta like the Truman Show, but better.

Also, if you're asian, you'll love UCSD.

UCSD Guardian Online

P.S. That's one ugly dude. Just saying...

This in particular was very funny.

This is hilarious. Some Asians are getting offended that other Asians planned a dance that was Asian themed. Someone tell me who's racist? I can't find the white guy in all this.

Well, another reason I would want to go to Berkeley is that I can commute and be around my family. I'm all about being around my huge group of relatives.

berkeley sucks, well college in general sucks

you wont be much happier in this **** hole

I wouldn't say college sucks. We all chose to be here. But hey, the world needs people to pump gas too, I guess.

But yes, Berkeley does suck.
