Hii,
I was wondering if any of you have taken LEDA Scholars Program and if you can tell me about the program. Also, please tell me how competative it is to get in and please help me outt I am interested on going.

Dude, that’s a really general question. LEDA encompasses many various aspects related to college, leadership, and being an intellectual. I can definitely answer any specific questions, otherwise, if you’re trying to get the scope of the matter, the website would probably do you better. BUT, we’re not sure just HOW competitive it is, but I remember hearing 5% are accepted from one of the staff. Not totally sure if that’s reliable or completely actual, but, well, there it is.

have u taken it? and yes i have looked into the website

when are you applying?.. PM me

I am new to this discussion so excuse the elementary questions, but where and what does LEDA stand for and also PROMYS.

PROMYS stands for Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists and it’s at Boston University. I’m applying there!

LEDA leader ship enterprise for a diverse america. it is at Princeton… way better than PROMYS.

Dear goodie,
LEDA is a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to identifying and developing the academic and leadership potential of exceptional public high school students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. These students are currently underrepresented in our nation’s top colleges, universities and ultimately, leadership sectors. The students are currently underrepresented in our nation’s top colleges, universities and ultimately, leadership sectors. LEDA believes that highly competitive colleges and universities are a nexus for the development of leadership. These institutions require an infusion of diversity to improve the mix of ideas and information impacting leaders of public and private organizations across the nation. By helping socio-economically disadvantaged students gain admission to selective, academic institutions, LEDA seeks to equalize educational opportunity. LEDA recognizes that we are better off as a nation and as a people if we offer equal opportunity regardless of socio-economic status, drawing upon the leadership potential of all of our most talented citizens.
The selection process is extremely selective. Over 2000 students apply but only 60 get accepted. The application has three parts; the first (general info), the second (in-depth assessment of academic record and finance.), the third is an interview. I cant give you much info on them because it would be cheating . if you have bad grades don’t worry. I have a 90.66 gpa and I got to the second round. What they want to see is a strong leader, with a lot of heart. Make sure you state it on your essay.
