left brain/right brain transfer question

As you might guess from my screen name, I’ve never posted on the Business Major forum before. All my posts have been on the Musical Theatre Major forum. My D’s currently a soph. MT major, and all her life she’s been an arts-focused kid – singing, theatre, photography, creative writing, etc. Now, because of some work experience, getting to know some business students, and just the natural progression of growing and changing, she’s suddenly interested in studying business. I don’t know at this point if she has a firm idea of what she’s specifically interested in – just that she has this new and very strong general interest. If she’s really serious about this, she’d have to transfer from where she is now. However, she doesn’t want to abandon her performing arts studies entirely, particularly not her voice training. So my question is: can any of you recommend schools that my strong right brain, emerging left brain D should look into? Many thanks.

Have you taken a look at IU?

Out of the top 10 undergraduate business schools Kelley is the only one that has a world-class music school at the same university in the form of the Jacobs School of Music.

The problem is Jacobs is ridiculously selective and extremely demanding. I don’t think it would be possible to achieve both a BFA from Jacobs and a BSBA from Kelley in 4 years or even 5. What might be possible though would be a degree from either Kelley or Jacobs and a minor in the other.

A lot of this will depend on what credits are transferrable though so the only way to find out for sure is to contact the schools.

Funny you should mention IU. My D’s best friend is a music major there. He also has business inclinations, but as far as I know he’s kept his focus on music.

Indiana is by far the best for this. Both of the schools are very well known and seem to offer a great eduation.
