legacy and dual degree programs

does anyone know if legacy helps when applying to dual degree programs?

^ This is a great question!

Here’s my opinion: If it’s an applicant that NEEDS the legacy bump (which at Penn is a sizable boost, especially if the applicant applies ED), then they wouldn’t be the type of applicant who would be accepted to the dual degree programs which generally exclusively take tip-top students (those who are bi/tri-lingual, those who have done significant scientific research, etc). So I would argue no, legacy in and of itself doesn’t really help when applying to such programs; however, I don’t really know myself and I’m interested in what others have to say!
