Legacy applicant?

First question,
is there a supplemantry for UCLA?
Second question,
Is there a section on the application form where I can inform that my dad attended UCLA and got his PH.D there?

Many thanks in advance.

For your first question, the answer is yes and no. The only applicants that get a supplementary application are those that the admissions board deems as boarderline. So they ask for more additional information to help make their choice. However, many students that are admitted do not get this supplementary application.

For you second question, there may be a section that asks but, legacy doesn’t factor into the admission decisions for UCLA.

Didn’t Bush get into Yale on a legacy?

yale is a private school. public schools claim that legacy is not a factor in their admissions decisions

i don’t think legacy is factored in at ucla

There is a supplemental questionnaire where more information is necessary for admissions to make a decision – it could be borderline; or a disabillity; or a talent.

No on the legacy question. The fact that my mother (undergrad and law school), my father (law school), my husband and I ALL graduated from UCLA played absolutely no part in the admissions process for my son.

Getting the supplemental questionnaire doesn’t necessarily mean you’re borderline. It could mean that some of the information on your application wasn’t clear enough, or your essays needed to be elaborated on, etc. Also I believe that if you apply to some of the other schools like the school of art and artchitecture they automatically give you a supplemental information questionnaire.
