legacy status for sororities

how much does it help? i heard something about that in order to reject or drop a legacy, the officers have to call the national HQ or something. didnt quite understand, is that true? do legacies usually get bids from their house?

btw im a KD and Chi O legacy.

Legacy status matters most for the first round. (Of course, you will make sure to have both your KD and Chi O relatives write letters and send them in to the rush chair in advance.) It depends on the sorority what the rules are about dropping a legacy…some require keeping a rushee for one round (meaning two visits to the house), some require a personal phone call to the alum when a rushee is dropped.

Legacy status opens a big door, but is never a shoo in by itself.
