Legacy With Poor Grades

Hello All.

I am planning to apply to law school shortly. My sister attended a certain law school, but due to one reason or another, failed or received a D in one class specifically. Overall, her grades were not that bad, but not that great either.

My question is, if I am planning to apply to that same school, would it still be helpful to mention her on the application despite the fact that she did not perform well? Would they only pay attention to the fact that someone related to me attended the institution, or would they check their grades?

Any input is appreciated.

Most law school admissions are driven by LSAT scores and grades; legacy has little or no effect, with the possible exception of a legacy who was a major donor to the school.

^ totally agree.
