Legal Assistant Job

So I’m currently 17 and a senior in high school. My dad’s a lawyer and I’ve worked in his office since I was 11. This year he’s going to take me with him to CLE’s and teach me how to do Title Searches and the like, so that I can properly learn to be a legal assistant. I turn 18 in June, so that’s right after graduation. Once I’m 18, I’ll be able to help with everything, because I’ll be able to get a notary seal and witness documents.

Anyways, in college next year, I was thinking about getting a job as a legal assistant. The problem is that I’m going to Carolina, so my guess is that most of the legal assistant jobs go to the law students in Columbia.

Do you think its plausible that law offices will hire an 18 year old undergrad student who isn’t a law student, but who does have some experience? I also don’t really have any aspirations to be a lawyer. It just happens to be a business that I’m very familiar with.

You might get a lot of temp. offers since you aren’t looking for a career. Other than that, I honestly don’t know.
