Legally Blonde

But in a way, being “not blonde” might have made Autumn stand out. One would expect a brunette to go blonde and wear all pink, so maybe it was smart not to do that. Just a thought … :)

Re: Bailey. Yes. What you said above. She doesn’t come across as likeable at all to me. But then again, this is not Miss Congeniality. It’s about casting a show and selling advertising (has anyone ever seen so many commercials for women’s shavers/razors in their life???) and filling seats for the show! I just don’t see that Bailey’s acting is up to par, but then again, perhaps things that don’t come through on tv come through live. They are not, as we all know, the same medium at all.

I have not been watching this show but you gotta remember that part of the show is trying to make a “good” TV show. They may even be leaving certain girls in it longer to create something (a certain element) for the TV show itself. For instance, in REAL casting, it doesn’t take ten “episodes” to cast someone. It could be that the casting agents have chosen who they want before the last few episodes but have kept certain people in it to create a better TV show in some fashion.

I haven’t seen the show either (it’s not being shown in Canada) but I don’t think the hair color issue is all that important. The character will be wigged in the show anyway.

I figured Laura Bell Bundy wore a wig; it’s pretty obvious that she’s not a natural blonde. However, she wasn’t in the public eye for a few months previously as a brunette. It may not be the same for any production where they stunt cast through a television show, but the fact that blondeness and all that it entails is an important theme to Legally Blonde makes it harder for me to buy someone in that role that isn’t known as a blonde throughout the whole selection process. Plus I thought the hairdresser guy kinda butchered Autumn’s hair. I do think she is the most talented one left without a doubt.

Using a reality show to cast a Broadway lead kind of gives me the willies, actually. But here I am, watching it lol.

I don’t think Laura Bell Bundy is wigged b/c she is not a natural blonde (I don’t know her, so I don’t know her natural hair color)! She is wigged, I would think, because Elle’s character has to have a certain look and the best way to get that is through wigs. I would guess that many (most) women appearing in Broadway shows would wear wigs during their performances. But perhaps alwaysamom (who knows more about this than do I … in fact, almost anyone knows more about this than do I!) can comment.

Klri- I hear ya about the asthma attack of a performance. Get through the whole show?? She didn’t even get through a sentence, lol! Well, if she wins, I have NO FAITH WHATSOEVER in reality tv casting. I lost faith already when Sanjaya made it into the top 10 for American Idol, although that was based on audience votes, not the judges.
I think Autumn has the best voice; Bailey’s accent bothers me (Elle is supposed to be from CA, so that doesn’t really work.) Although Bailey’s dancing is superior to Autumn’s. But given voice vs. dancing, I really think that voice is more important. I also think Autumn is a better actress. But somehow I think they’re going to pick Bailey…

They’re all going to get jobs so don’t worry if your favorite doesn’t win. :)

Alwaysamom-
Yeah, but it might be at the Brooklyn Diner, lol!!!

I meant jobs with the show. I don’t think that is really a spoiler to mention but the final four have all been hired, in some capacity.

^^^That goes along with what I was saying earlier that it is not surprising that the girl cut early on is not currently cast in something (but is at Brooklyn Diner) but usually with these shows, the final few get some work directly out of it.

Sort of off topic, but I’ve always thought that the role of Elle Woods and Glinda in Wicked were very similar. When we saw the tour of Wicked last winter, we had just watched Legally Blonde on MTV a few weeks earlier, and I couldn’t help but notice how easily interchangeable those two roles are.

Lauren has already been cast as Margot in the National Tour. Funny but Kate Rockwell who was in the Grease reality show has that same role on Broadway now! Must be a good role for girls from reality shows!

I am a bit frustrated as my two attempts to Tivo the latest show have resulted in my recording some other silly show. They must have changed the time on MTV and not told my Tivo :frowning: I will try again…

kaysmom, from what I’ve heard Lauren will be the first Elle cover on tour which would mean that she’ll have an ensemble role, and not Margot.

This is ONLY internet rumor (and you know that rumors are well, just that)…but ones I have read have indicated…

Lauren is going on the tour into ensemble but as the first cover for Elle and two of the Delta Nus. Rhiannon is going to be Margot and the second Elle cover on the tour.

Supposedly, the runnerup (rumored to be Autumn) will be ensemble on Broadway, as first cover for Elle, and the winner (rumored to be Bailey) becomes Elle on Broadway.

For what it is worth…LOL.

I am not surprised that Bailey will win. But I wish Autumn would’ve.

I heard a rumor that Autumn wins…

I guess we will have to wait until Monday!

I guess you can’t believe everything you hear! lol

Agreed…it is all rumor…likely the reality of it is mixed in there somewhere. I do think that the last few girls in it will be involved in some capacity in either the Bdway or Tour casts.

I watched episode 7 online tonight. If Bailey is indeed the winner, I hope she can lose that accent – “I’m what you woahnt!”
