Lehigh Admissions factors

On the collegeboard site the list of Lehigh’s admissions factors seems pretty different from other schools. GPA is not on the list at all, and class rank is all the way down under “considered”. Is this indicative of how Lehigh looks at applicants? It seems like things like interview, essays, recs, are more important than grades… True?

bumppp…
Babson has a similar profile on collegeboard

Basically if you apply to Lehigh, you’re expected to have an excellent GPA and a pretty good rank. Those things don’t matter as much at Lehigh. As a matter of fact, Lehigh doesn’t even disclose average GPAs to the public (except to say it is between A-/A - whatever that means). Admissions is more interested in weeding out applicants based in their interest, essays, and recs.

However I say just ignore what collegeboard says. You’re looking way too much into it if you’re asking questions like this based on whats written at the collegeboard website.

Lehigh uses the Ivy League as a model for admissions – that is, you have to have good grades and test scores, but since so many applicants have these qualities, you also have to demonstrate leadership and/or talent, pursue interesting ECs, and write memorable essays. And then, for the region within driving distance, Lehigh also adds demonstrated interest in the school.

Of course, students DO get in with limited ECs but stellar GPA/scores, and others get in with extraordinary leadership but slightly lower GPA/scores. You have a better chance, however, if you have the whole package.

also recommendations are highly looked at. the more you have the better chance you’ll have.
