At this point in time it really doesn’t matter what this delay is based upon. The students and faculty are preparing to leave for the upcoming winter break and the majority of them will be gone by the day’s end on Thursday. Tomorrow is a high percentage possibility for the decisions being released as the Committee must be available in case the portal crashes or other problems with the site occur. I give up.

It was so much easier years ago when decisions were sent out in the regular mail…you just waited for the mailman to come down the block with your letter…were too scared to open it up in front of the family… took it to the bathroom and opened it up…and then crapped! This online method makes you feel like you are getting crapped on!
I am trying to imagine a job or a professor where I could tell them I’ll turn in my most important assignment ‘sometime later this week’.
I recognize that the admissions staff must need to go through thousands of applications, however, they’ve had months and weeks to prepare for this.
So now, every afternoon at 4PM this week, several thousand students, who have their heart set on Lehigh, gather around their computers or phones hitting refresh on a browser.
And every day, their friends hear back (some good news, some bad) from schools that have committed to responding on a given day.
I think it shows a real lack of compassion and understanding on behalf of the admissions office.
If you think you are going to need more time, then announce what day you will release but there’s simply no need to force kids to go through this daily and then post a message at 4PM that decisions will not be released.

I’m hearing the delay at this late stage is simply due to having too many “qualified” applicants so last minute decisions have to be made regarding deferrals or outright rejections…and nothing to do with the idiots on the football team.

@WaitingDad couldn’t agree more, the “Football Players” or the “Decrease in Applicants” don’t make as much sense as “There are more applicants”. Looking at the past couple years of increasing numbers, a slight decrease in ranking and a “scandal” that barely made local news will not have a large enough effect on the number of applicants for this year. Definitely not enough to cause a shortage!
and there are more deferrals than people in the football scandal so all they would have to do is move some of those people in
What is everyone thinking about it being released today? Any reason for it not to be? They posted “Later this week” yesterday… so that would seem that they aren’t ready to commit to “tomorrow” (Today).
last year they said “later this week” ad posted the results 10 minutes later, so who knows

At this point there is no way they will post an exact date. This way they don’t have to fend off any angry emails or phone calls! How close to sending out the decisions?..pretty darn.

I would not be surprised if there are more applicants…I think that the fields Lehigh is strong in are very much in demand right now: engineering, business and other technical fields. Plus, don’t forget about the School of Education and the Jounalism department…also high quality. Lots of opportunity if you take advantage. Good luck to all…Lehigh is already teaching you a lesson…worry only about the things you have control over. They will release when they are ready to. Nerve wrenching for you though…be patient!
