Lehigh Class of 2017!

Waiting Dad - Agree - Definately a special feeling about the students and campus. After having an official tour - I could not imagine why anyone would apply to any other school.

Yeah, RKMH, hopefully just another day or two! I am just about done with waiting haha! It’s so exciting though that my application was probably already read!

I’ve been trying to fill up my days to keep busy but I can’t stop checking my email and the portal!!

I understand…just think only a few more days. My son is so calm. I guess he figures he did all that he can do and whatever will be will be. Hopefully you will both be there in the fall and will get to know each other. Please keep me posted as soon as you hear and I will do the same. Try and have a good day. Watch some football to get your mind off of it…My younger son has been walking around the house singing the Lehigh songs that my husband always sings…this is NOT helping me to keep my mind off of the decision…

Hi guys, so I’ve been reading everyone’s messages since this discussion board started but I just signed up for college confidential today. I just wanted to say that this waiting is torture! Does anyone know why they’ve been so late with the decisions this year?

LLev- Most likely because they pushed back the deadline due to Hurricane Sandy? That’s the most logical cause. We all feel your pain!

Yeah, retro is most likely right. If they pushed the decisions back for any reason other than an increase in applications it would be because of the storm.

RKMH - I guess I’m calm, too, because as you said there’s nothing left to do. Still, I just want it to be over with!

I know but a lot of other schools had to push back their deadlines also and they got the decisions out on time! This is all just so nerve wracking.

Llev - yeah, it is frustrating… DRtmouth was able to release decisions EARLIER than expected! But whatever, what’s done is done! On a side note. What major are you applying as?

I’m applying as an undecided engineering major. I was thinking about doing biomedical but I changed it to undecided at the last minute because biology was never my strongest science so I guess I’ll just play it by ear. What about you Lehigh2017?

BioE actually  but Biology is my strongest point, so it made sense for me. Really it’s just a way to get into med school though! I’m just worried because I never took Physics.

Many schools pushed back their deadlines to allow those affected by Hurricane Sandy additional time to submit their ED1 applications. Lehigh was different in that they were personally affected because they had NO power for a full week. Other schools were able to continue their decision process but Lehigh was completely shut down…now they are trying to catch up.

Lehigh2017- physics wasn’t a required science in your school? As long as you are okay with calculus and algebra I’m sure you’ll be okay. It’s basically all math.
WaitingDad- That makes sense, I was out of power for 8 days and had no school for two weeks during the hurricane and my school couldn’t send out our transcripts until after the power came back on which was really close to the deadline.

Nope, physics wasn’t required - only bio and Chem were. And yeah, I have a good foundation in math so maybe it won’t be bad!

The Admission’s Department does not work on weekends and everyone is leaving Lehigh after Wednesday. I can’t see them waiting until the last day to get things done so I’m betting it will be late tomorrow or early Tuesday. Letters might have gone out on Friday as was done a few years ago…but no way to confirm until someone posts they see the mailman coming down the street with a letter from Bethlehem. Tick…tock…

They should really send us an e-mail on this; it’s better than us e-mailing them constantly and bothering the.

WaitingDad, so it’s probably safe to assume that they’ll be sent out by mid week! Hopefully they’ll be sent tomorrow or, as you said, were sent Friday! That would probably mean that they’ll be in our mailboxes as early as tomorrow… Wow…

And yes jigar, an email would be appreciated… Just to alleviate the speculating!

WaitingDad, you have made me optimistic right now.

Lehigh2017, I’m still stuck on that issue.

But thinking about it, if Lehigh sent them out Friday, they would have told us that they sent them out instead of telling us there is no date, it’s still mid-December.

So true… As optimistic as I was, I’m now jus realistic, again. They definitely would have of us that they sent them. Maybe they’ll be sent tomorrow, then!
