Lehigh Class of 2017!

Does anyone have trouble with their Lehigh e-mail. I can’t seem to send and receive e-mail.

I haven’t sent an email but I have received some perfectly fine. What happens when you try to send an email?

I can send e-mails actually, but I can’t recieve them. I try to test it out by sending an e-mail from another account and I never get it.

I recommend calling up Wired (Lehigh’s technical support) with this problem. It doesn’t sound like something I’ve ever had to deal with, and you definitely don’t want to miss out on possible emails as a new student.

Mike,

How is the tutoring centre at the school? In other words, how easy is it to get help from other students and teachers?

On average, how many classes do you have in a single day? Do students’ schedules leave enough time for study/review and homework?

Thanks!

hkdanny,

Very easy, actually. There are lots of ways to get help if you need it. While some students do use Lehigh’s tutoring centers (like in calculus or in English at the Writing Center), I think most students use the traditional routes of going to TAs. Lehigh’s TAs are really great, and they often hold review sessions for exams or homework assignments on their own - it’s really helpful to see a perspective that is different from a professor’s. But the professors themselves are also extremely helpful. Lehigh professors are formally available through office hours, but most of them are willing to help you out right before or after class or during their own review sessions.

It depends on your schedule, but on average it’s usually 2-4 classes per day. Most 3-4 credit Lehigh classes meet Mon, Wed, Fri with another recitation at some other time during the week, some meet for longer times on Tue, Thu with recitiation. 1-2 credit classes like labs meet less often. You’ll find that some days of the week are busier than others.

The big change you’ll experience at college is how much free time you’ll have. And you’ll need to learn how to budget your time between doing work, being involved on campus, and having fun. But I think there is plenty of time to do the work and still have fun at Lehigh.

Best,

Has anyone received conformation about their financial aid yet? I scanned it into my computer and faxed it over as well as trying to fax it but i haven’t received any conformation on my portal.

Dear Devils123,
I actually confirmed my Financial Aid Awards within my Portal. You could try logging into your Secure Area to do so with this page:

https://lewisweb.cc.lehigh.edu/pls/prod/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin

You have to enter your LIN and PIN in order to log in, at least that is how I have done it.
After logging in successfully, kindly follow this order provided by Lehigh Financial Aid Office to confirm your Aids:

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Chanh

Thanks again Mike. I’ve heard that Calc 1/Math 21 is really difficult. I’ll probably become a pretty regular face at the tutoring centre by the end of the year!

Who is thinking about doing CHOICE housing?

I’m thinking about it all really - I’m deciding between CHOICE, a single, or commuting. I will almost definitely NOT commute, but it’s just so practical. Can you do CHOICE and have a single? Personally, I want to have somewhere that’s private (a single) but still not have to give up a social life.

Lehigh2017, The choice floors in Dravo are mostly doubles, but there are a few singles. Take a look at Dravo floor plan and you will see the layout.

Okay thanks. I didn’t know if the whole floor was for CHOICE or just some rooms.

I just took a look at the floor plans, but how can you tell which are singles, doubles, triples?

I just got my deposit confirmation today (I paid the deposit on the 21st of December). Did anyone else just get it or was mine just late? It came as an email from inrar@lehigh.edu.

I just got the email today too

My daughter had an email in her Lehgih inbox the day after her deposit was made on 12/21.

Okay good, so they’re probably just sending them all out now. Britsmum, I got that email too but it was a receipt and not a confirmation. This one came to my regular email address, the one I signed up for the common app with.

I just asked my daughter and she received the same email today. :-)

How did you guys all deal with the stress and nervous feelings?? ahh, I’m so nervous for RD. I hope to join you guys at Lehigh next year!
