Dan,

I think you have a very very good grades and test scores. You certainly have the leadership qualities Lehigh looks for. I don’t know much about how competitive the Arts and Sciences college is at Lehigh. I don’t know where you would find that kind of break out. My son got into the Engineering program and his grades and scores were just a tiny tad higher than than yours.

But here is my worry - you mentioned both your parents lost their jobs in the past 4 years and things have been difficult. Are you sure you can afford (literally) to apply ED2 and accept whatever financial package Lehigh may give you? You can go back to last year’s posts and the year before that and read about kids who did not get the kind of financial assistance from Lehigh they were expecting. Lehigh is a pretty expensive school.

Applying ED 1 & 2 means you are willing to accept whatever financial package Lehigh offers you. There isn’t any guarantee of what amount of aid you are going to be given. There was someone who applied ED! who got accepted but said she didn’t get enough financial aid.

If the financial package is not a concern then I think you are an excellent candidate for ED2. The worse that can happen is you will be pushed back to regular admission.

Best of luck!!!
