Ask away if you have questions about Lehigh University. My son just graduated with a B.S. in Materials Science/Engineering and I’m willing to share our experience.
Lehigh has a bit of a party school reputation…can we discount that stereotype?
Can we discount how the stereotype affects co-eds?
I’m not sure what you mean. I’m seriously asking whether the OP feels that stereotype has any merit or is a myth that should be debunked.
My suspicion is that it’s no more or less of a party school than most colleges.
What I mean by that is that the female experience of fraternity behaviour can be different than the male experience. I remember reports right here of women posting that they were transferring out of Lehigh because they didn’t feel safe. That’s back 5-6 years ago when the frat problems at Lehigh were at their height and were making headlines in newspapers. I hope that things have changed for the better because the academics at Lehigh are so good.
What are the options for social activity on the weekends if a male student chooses not to join a frat? I know the school has a ton of clubs but are they getting together on weekend nights for fun? Although there’s a small percentage participating in Greek life, is the main social scene centered around fraternities in the weekend? Thanks!
