Length of Update Letter?

Approximately how long should it be? Mine is a bit on the longer side though I have a lot to say. I set up my application as kind of an unfinished story and now it is finished…the letter is about 2 pages long.

they aren’t going to read a two page letter this late in the game.

hmmm so how long are you thinking? one page? bullet points to make things extra clear?

I figured less than 400 words.

One page is the MAX. Normally people suggest the resume to be 1 page.

Alright, I put necessary ID materials on one page and the material fit on another page. I used very concise bullet points and sent it over. Should be a quick 1-2 minute read.

Can I ask, updates for what?

^ Major awards, new titles, etc. things that can help you admission

powerbomb: PMed you.

I would stick the ID stuff in the upper right or left hand corner- you don’t need to be super super lengthy about it. They’ll be able to find you in the database…

How major does an award have to be to be a major award?

good point.

@ Christiansoldier
I sent an update about a publication in Nature and a couple of local scholarships.

^
a publication in Nature is definitely a major update

^
None of my friends knew what it meant, though. lol.

Do they email you back telling you that it has been added?

They haven’t.

should this be sent as an email? and if so, what information about yourself do you need to list at the top?
