<p>I know I want to stay ~550 words on the main essay, but how about the two questions before that? Do I need to stay 250 and below, or can I expand a little to perhaps 350 or 400?</p>

<p>I wrote around 350 and 425 for them (353 and 427 to be exact).</p>
<p>Chicago is much more interested in what you have to say than the number of words you send. Write what you need to write-- just respect the admission’s officer’s time.</p>
