I’ve never owned any animal print, and I can’t picture myself in a leopard print dress, shirt, skirt, or pants under any circumstances (though the right woman could wear the OP’s dress very well for dinner out, or cocktails with friends – but not at the office). That being said, I’ve recently done a major wardrobe makeover and I would be willing to explore something like the scarf in #46. I think that’s a very sharp look.
I used to work with a woman who felt that leopard prints were “classic,” and the implication was that one could always wear them, and they would be elegant and appropriate. I remember when she said that, I felt myself considering that sentiment and sort of staring off into the distance imagining different leopard-print-wearing scenariors…But she was from a distant land, and I chalked it up to cultural differences.
By the way, she was from a very wealthy family; to the extent that affected her fashion sense, I’m not sure, but I think she was very influenced by couture.
I am from NJ but I just say no to animal prints. That said I do have a dress from Talbott that has a giraffe type print.
While we’re on the subject of animal prints… this animal-themed color by Target just cracks me up:
Target had to issue an apology.
