Let’s talk Mascara! What do you use?

I experimented with contacts last year (have since given up). My L’Oreal mascara used to flake off, which definitely was not compatible with contacts. I did a lot of research to find a mascara that was good for sensitive eyes and went with Almay, believe it or not.

It does everything I want it to do and for not a lot of money. It does not smudge. It comes off with plain water, doesn’t flake, and makes my lashes more noticeable. If I wash my face, the mascara doesn’t stick to my eyelashes at all, and I will have racoon eyes (I just use a q-tip dipped in moisturizer to remove it all), but it stays put otherwise. Definitely not waterproof.

It’s the best mascara I’ve ever used, and as a life-long mascara user, that is saying something.

I use Thrive and Prime–both are tubing mascaras and neither flakes leaving you looking like a raccoon. I have tried Trish McEvoy but didn’t like the applicator brush. I think you just have to try different mascaras to come up with the one that you like the best.

Maybelline Great Lash in very black. Same as since I was in my 20s. They do offer it with a different brush style now that I like more.
