Let's get down to brass tacks

For legacies, I have to assume that NU (like every other school) checks to see what level of donations that the legacy parent or parents have donated over the year.
Now, I’m obviously excluding the “I gave a dorm” level of giving - just thinking about typical donations that someone might give an alma mater on a yearly basis, what level of donations, if any, do you think are considered meaningful?
Or does it just not matter unless or until you are one of the mega-donors?

I asked the question to someone on the Northwestern Board of Directors if regular giving was looked at during the admissions decision and was told “no, it is a not a factor.” Unless a donation is HUGE, it is not noticed nor the information sought out.
