let's just say yale were to make a mistake...

EVERYONE in my whole community knows i’m applying.

and the funny thing is I only told like 4 people

lol that’s definitely me. When people ask where I’m applying, I say it as one word: Yale-but-i-won’t-get-in. I mean, I know i’m generally a competitive applicant for selective colleges, but - 8.3% !!! I feel ridiculous even saying it.

and if it makes you feel better princessbell, I’m not trying to be president or a CEO or have a mansion or be a millionaire. but i’m applying because Yale is such a sweet place and i’d love to go there! oh and i’ve considered Peace Corps too :)

maybe we can be friends at Yale if the ambitious kids shun us lol.

^^^^yayyyyyy

lol.

yeah that’s me too. when people ask me what private schools i’m applying to, i always say “yale to see if i can get in”. it’s really not that i think i have a chance, but more that i just love yale so much and i really want to go there…

If your friend’s grades and test scores are like yours, I would say that princess shell actually would do well at Yale- it’s just that this person doesn’t seem like one of the ambitious, not very intelligent, grinds who often get into Yale.

futher explanation mondo???

1570 SAT score is always a plus.
Also think of it this way, Yale only has a 1490 SAT average- many people who get into Yale aren’t especially bright. You will be surprised by the number of upper-class straight A students with interesting ECs and decent but not stellar test scores who get into the elite colleges.

So if you (I mean your friend… haha) were to get in, then you wouldn’t be very intimidated by the ‘smartness’ of the student body.

At least I found that to be true for Duke which has around a 1450 average.
