Name should be George Spencer (to honor Diana)

I’m loving Benjamin James!

Anyone else kinda disappointed it wasn’t a girl?

Nope. I knew it was going to be a boy. :)

just a little, since it would be interesting to see what she would have done for the possibly 50+ years waiting for William to die.

Funny. Diana died on my son’s birthday and now her grandson is born on my daughter’s birthday. We must be connected!

And I vote for George.

I didn’t think I had a preference and was mildly disappointed when it turned out to be a boy and I have no idea why.

It was just a moment, though. I can’t wait to hear what they’ve decided to name him! I’m very happy for them, I hope everything went smoothly.

I could never understand having a preference in gender for a baby. As long as the baby was healthy, that’s all I ever cared about. Beyond that, I especially could never relate to expressing such preferences to others. The baby may be too young to hear about it at first, but one day they may be confronted with evidence from Aunt Bella that you really, really wanted a boy or a girl! At any rate, I guessed boy because I didn’t think Kate would have an almost slip up moment earlier in her pregnancy. I think she did that to throw the press off.

I don’t believe in old fashioned figure head monarchies, or the money spent on them, but don’t really blame those born into the job.

“Um… she’s 5 feet 10! How is that a “tiny” mom?”

In my books, she is tiny. Size is not determined just by height. Kate is 5 feet 10 and weighs under 120 lb. She is also very slim (judging by the size of the clothes she wears - and those brands are not prone to vanity sizing).

I was hoping for a girl to see the new succession laws put to use. I hope that they use Spencer as a middle name, but there is such a cool relationship with Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, that it’s probably unlikely.

Hey I think the most important thing is that he’s happy and healthy. Just woulda liked to see a girl baby in the castle for a change :). Nothing more, nothing less.

I knew my dad wanted a boy. Doesn’t mean he loved me any less. To have a preference is human IMO.

Oh, I didn’t know she was that tall! Wow, when I got married I was 125 lb and 5’-9", and that was skinny.

Of the 2 names that I suggested early in this thread, obviously Mary is out :). I’m sticking with George though.

I am thinking that there has to be some tribute to Diana. Her full name was Diana Frances Spencer. Perhaps, they will include the name Frances in the boys name. Charles Frances or William Frances or …

I’m sticking with George, too. I think he’ll be named George Philip Michael Louis.

I like James much better than George. I’m pulling for James :)

I was just more interested in seeing how Kate would dress a little girl, I think. Boys clothes are not as much fun. But of course, it’s not like I’m actually terrifically disappointed. Must we read so far into every little comment?

Well, My father was George and his father was James. I think George would be cool, a good solid name.

Well now that we know it’s a boy, I really like James.

He should be named Roy Al
