Let's talk about Fall quarter 07...

So as grades roll in, how do you guys feel about the first quarter of the 2007-2008 academic year? Any class recommendations? Feel free to post whatever…

As for me, this was my very first quarter here, and I absolutely loved it. Yes, my GPA suffered a bit, but I think I’m getting a feel for college life. And hey, final exams weren’t THAT bad.

I’d have to recommend Lillian Kamal for economics courses. She was both my freshman seminar adviser and my macroeconomics professor, and I thought she was amazing. I’m taking her microeconomics course next quarter as well. As for math, I took MENU 290 with Alongi- great guy and great prof, but the course is just annoyingly abstract and difficult.

So a question for you upperclassmen: how do winter and spring quarter differ from the fall? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there a Dean’s List or something of the like?

i’m a freshman as well, my ca told me that deans list is 3.7 and up

Dean’s is 3.7 and up. I should have made it, waiting on one last grade…

Yay, Dean’s list :P

haha, nice man, me too;
edit wait, how do you know for sure? right now I have the GPA requirement, but are we notified at all?

They’ll notify your parents.

Thanks for the reply.
Not noted on permanent record? Wow, that sucks…

Well, keep it up there and you’ll get cum laude at the least…

Depending on your college. Not all have “graduation with honors.” Some require honors theses, etc. (I know SESP does).

True enough- I need to write a thesis for my major to get honors in it.
