Let's talk about something OTHER than decisions

As the title says, I think we all need to destress and take our minds off of March 31st for a while. Sooo then let’s talk about some other things… I guess I’ll start off with some question and answer, perhaps?

What music are you listening to right now?
-A Tom Waits concert from NPR’s All Songs Considered Concert’s podcast. Specifically, he’s playing Chocolate Jesus right now.

What are you reading?
-Tess of the D’Ubervilles for school. I just finished reading “Federico Fellini: Comments on Film” and it had to have been one of the most fascinating and entertaining things I have ever read. Seriously, if you don’t know this man, look him up.

Link to something interesting:
[Was Einstein Wrong?: A Quantum Threat to Special Relativity: Scientific American](http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=was-einstein-wrong-about-relativity&print=true) - An article titled “Was Einstein Wrong?: A Quantum Threat to Special Relativity”

Scatch that top link, I think something a bit more mind-numbing is in order:

[men who look like old lesbians](http://menwholooklikeoldlesbians.blogspot.com/)

[This is why you’re fat.](http://thisiswhyyourefat.com/)

I like the sense of balance that you’ve created between the intellectually stimulating and the revoltingly inane. (Pork-gasm? Haha!)

What music am I listening to right now?
Well, my school just got done with their production of “Anything Goes”, in which I played violin as part of the pit orchestra. I have been you-tubing the numbers of this musical, and those youtube searches have led me to other musical clips. My favorites are Patti Lupone’s version of Anything Goes in one of the Tony Awards shows, and a Tony Awards version of Sweeney Todd (also featuring Patti Lupone!). Oh yeah, and the Tenth Anniversary production of Les Miserables!

What books am I reading?
Um, with CC to occupy me, I haven’t even cracked the book that I’m supposed to be reading for AP Lit. Well, just to prove that I am Princeton-smart like the rest of you, I’ll say that a few months ago I started The Brothers Karamozov by Dostoyevsky. I’ve been also wanting to read Anna Karenina by Tolstoy, because I am curious as to why that’s the greatest novel out there, according to some writers’ poll.

lol I’m reading Heart of Darkness… how appropriate

God, I just finished Heart of Darkness (for English class)–one of the least-enjoyable things that I’ve ever read. Maybe a little better than The Fountainhead or As I Lay Dying, though…

I have to read Heart of Darkness later this year. It looks attractive because it’s short, but that’s obviously not an indication of its literary merits. (Or how much slogging it will take to read through it.) I have heard that it is useful for the AP English Lit test,so hopefully there will be some justification in reading it, if all other aspects bore me to death.

Tess, Tess, Tess… That’s what I SHOULD be reading right now (for AP lit yuppp). Instead I decided to pick up Palace of Mirrors at the library by the author of Just Ella. It’s really stupid and now I want to be a princess!
=p

What music am I listening to?

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless. What a great album. Although lately, the new Grizzly Bear album has been playing continuously.
