My daughter took her ssats recently, we have yet to receive her scores, however we received a letter from the Head of Mathematics from a prep school acknowledging her strong aptitude in Math. Is this common?

If she has competed in AMC and did well, it may stem from that. There have been quite a few posters here who have mentioned the same kind of thing, as well as being “invited” to apply. I think they share info with Andover and Exeter and maybe some others.

Or, it could be from the ssat scores. Schools do get them sooner. But I would guess AMC.

It did say due to the strong aptitude on her SSATs and she was enpuraged to apply by a coach.(she’s an AAU 2 sport athelte)ansshe did well on her interview andhas good recommendations…but it I am sure most of the candidates are…Plus we are applying for financial aid : ( thanks for your input…the waiting game begins

Wonderful! She sounds like a strong candidate. Good luck!

Congrats. If I may ask, from which school was this letter?
