Letter from alumni to admissions?

Hello CC! I am applying to the College of Human Ecology, and I just recently realized one of my very close family friends went to Cornell and majored in Home Economics, which turned into the College of HumEc. She would be more than willing to write a letter on my behalf and send it to CU. Would it hold any weight as an alumnus, or not? I already sent my two teacher recommendations and my mandatory counselor recommendation. I have no hooks and consider the school a reach, so essentially I am asking if this would help my chances at all. I appreciate any help!

No weight whatsoever since it says nothing about your qualities and only that you coincidentally happen to know one of tens of thousands of Cornell Alumni.
