Letter Grade--Teacher's Discretion

I’m taking an online course sponsored by a university and I got a percentage that would justify an X+ rather than just X. The university just has A, B, C, D but for the purpose of my transcript, is it wrong to ask for an X+? The percentage certainly justifies it–I just want to know if it is improper.

If they only use A, B, C, D, F on their official transcript, then asking for an X+ seems useless.

I realize it but I didn’t know if there could be a conversion between the % and letter grade for my HS transcript. I forgot to mention that this class is also being transferred to my HS transcript; the percentage I earned well fits the X+ range defined by my school.

What do you propose to do? Bring all your graded work to your GC, sit there with a calculator to show how you worked out the percentage? You would of course do the same exercise if the percentage warranted and X-, right?
The college transcript is the official document; if it says X, then your HS transcript should say X. Let it go. It’s not worth spending time on, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

I don’t think you said ask that they change it to X+. Just explain that this grade was only graded as A, B, C, or D, and there was no + or - but specify that you would’ve gotten the X+ if you really want

Ok sorry…I didn’t mean to seem petty. I had a 99% in the class actually so that’s the only reason I bothered asking. I probably wouldn’t have cared otherwise.
