Letter of circumstances.....

Since the start of senior year, i’ve been struggling with a medical condition that has caused me a lot of grief and headaches throughout the school year. I haven’t been able to concentrate, i have constant headaches, nosebleeds, and other issues. As such, my senior year grades TANKED in comparison to my previous years. Can I still submit a letter to Mcgill (and my other schools) as to WHY my grades are not what they normally are? Its not seniority at all, I just have been sick for the past 4 months, and school has not been easy.

i can’t imagine why you would. your stats are well below McGill’s stated MINIMUMS, which they clearly state is an automatic rejection anyway. sending a letter would be a waste of their time and yours.

I am by no means an expert in this area, but firstly you need to get your medical problems fixed because you aren’t going to be able to perform at any college with this condition. Assuming you get well could you retake your senoir HS year?

Honestly, send in a letter and call them up because if they don’t know what’s going on you’re automatically not getting in.

If your last year grades are suffering because of extenuating circumstances (in this case medical ones), do send a letter (even call them, given the circumstances are still current at application processing time), it won’t hurt your application, and talking to the McGill admission may provide you with other options. But I concur with singers, your health comes first, regardless of what happens with your application.
