Is it better to have a Freshman year Biology CP teacher or a Freshman/Sophomore Spanish teacher to write your college letter or recc? I am not taking Spanish for a fourth year. Thanks! (I’m not sure if my Biology teacher remembers me but she really liked me)

I believe you’re generally supposed to have a teacher from your junior or senior years do your Letter of Reccomendation

Do you think the subject matters? Is it better to get one closely related to your major?

Subject may be more important if you’re an intended STEM major, though that’s just a hunch. The thing is so many people change their majors that they’ll probably take your intended major with a grain of salt. Letters are a way for them to find out things about you that aren’t in your stats, transcript, essays, or elsewhere on your application. So try to think who would have useful things to say in that regard.
