Can teachers send in a letter of recommendation on their own stationary without using the teacher evaluation form??

I don’t remember the specifics of it, but I believe it’s standardized to make it easier for the admissions committee for a reason. We get something like 20,000 applicants a year. Imagine what a nightmare it would be if there wasn’t a set of forms everyone had to use. Stick with what NYU asks for, no need risking your admissions decision because someone didn’t want to use the form the school provides.

It’s actually close to or over 40,000 applicants every year =)

Is that counting graduate programs too? I was just thinking if we have a rough average of 25% acceptance across all programs, that ought to net us 5,000 students or so a year so for all four years that gets us to where we are at a touch over 20,000 undergrads at the school. Quick guesstimates.

42,242 applicants in 2011 for a freshman Class of 4650- from NYU website-just the facts

My son and I attended the Stern open house yesterday. Director of admissions stated that for class of 2015, there were about 7,000 Stern applications and that about 1,600 applicants were accepted, of which about 500 enrolled. Further, for admitted students, median SAT was “high 600s to low 700s” for each of the three sections, and the ACT Composite “middle 50 low-high” was 29-32.
